Personally, when I think of Liverpool, two ideas first spring to mind: football, and The Beatles. Two things that I’m sure Liverpudlian locals are more than content with being associated with.

While the reason for my pilgrimage to Liverpool was in fact to discover all things Beatlemania, when my feet hit the ground I discovered the city was so much more. I found the city to rugged but charming, cultured but proud, welcoming but set in its ways, and enlightened but historic.

Liverpool is a city of many facets and composites, and I found it to be fascinating.

So, in an attempt to do this city justice, here is a brief photo essay of everything I found in Liverpool aside from The Beatles.
