Frequently Asked Questions
Or what I think you would ask if you were to have a question. On Blogging:
Q: Why Taylor On A Trip?
A: Well, not only do I love to travel, but I think I have done enough psychedelic drugs to warrant flashbacks from time to time. I kid, it’s like, the ‘trip’ of life man you know? Groovy.
Q: Who designed your website?
A: I did! With the help of WordPress, Elegant Themes (Divi), Bluehost, and Photoshop. It was a learning curve to say the least, but the logistics of website creation is great knowledge to have.
Q: Who takes your photos?
A: 99% of the time, I do, unless explicitly stated otherwise. The selfie world is your oyster as long as you have a tripod and remote! That said, the credit for my homepage feature photo and additional website branding photos belongs to Ashley Senja Photography.
Q: What gave you the idea to start your own blog?
A: Travel and music are big passions for me – I’m on various travel and music websites all the time, soaking in information. Also, I love to write. So basically, the idea to start this blog came from the need to give myself a creative outlet.
Q: Do you accept guest posts?
A: I do! Check out my “Contact” page for more information.
On Music:
Q: I was hoping for more album and concert reviews. You listen to so much music, why don’t you review it?
A: Firstly, reviewing music for someone who is employed full time in the music industry means walking a thin “conflict of interest” line. I have priorities.
Secondly, I have no desire to objectively critique someone else’s creativity in an open forum. To be honest, I rarely read reviews before I listen to something as I prefer to listen to music with an open mind. It’s all subjective. Not to say I don’t have opinions and think all music is hunky-dory. If you know me in real life, you know that I think a lot of what’s out there is shit – but that’s just one opinion.
On Travel:
Q: How do you decide where to travel next?
A: It’s a long, grueling process that has a lot to do with flipping coins. Sometimes it’s a deal on a flight or bus, sometimes it’s a friend who suggests we take a holiday, and sometimes it’s me closing my eyes in front of a map and pointing.
